LAS VEGAS AMERICA'S FOURTH ANGRIEST CITY

America's Angriest Cities

We've discovered that if you want to really piss off an entire city, all you have to do is rank it last among 100 cities and then print the results in a national magazine. Happens every month. But what we don't know is how angry a city might become if we actually name it the "Angriest Town in America." Well, Detroit, go ahead and let us have it: You are officially the most spitting-mad metropolis. (That being said, getting angry isn't always a bad thing. In fact, occasionally blowing your lid can ease your mind, improve athletic performance, boost libido, and facilitate business negotiations. Don't believe us?

How did we gauge rage? Statistically (and from a safe distance). We calculated the number of aggravated assaults per capita (Federal Bureau of Investigation), the number of people with high blood pressure (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), the amount of time spent in traffic during rush hour (Texas Transportation Institute), and the number of anger-management specialists per capita (American Psychological Association). When the final results came in, we found a lot of towns that were PO'd and a lot of ones that were a-okay. So what should you do if your city topped our list?

Remarks to the Common Interest Community Commission August 23, 2011 By Jonathan Friedrich.

I have before me a copy of an ABC News report from this past March 26, 2011 which reports that Las Vegas is the fourth

Angriest City in America.

Last night channel 3 news reported that 40 % of Las Vegas residents would leave Las Vegas if they could

These are staggering statistics.

The ABC report is based upon a number of concerns which caused us to be rated the 4th Angriest City. It includes the number of Anger Management Specialists per Capita, the Number of Aggravated Assaults and people with High blood pressure.

We need to ask the question why all so many people angry?

My feeling based upon the many calls I get each week from very angry & upset homeowners living in HOAs are due to a combination of problems some of which include Power Hungry Boards hitting owners with petty Violations, Owners out of work who cannot pay their assessments and are then turned over to Collection companies who add on thousands of dollars in fees, unruly boards that do not follow their own Governing Documents or State Statues and when Owners complain they become targets & are retaliated against by their Boards. Corruption is rampant  in many Associations causing grief to many as per the Paradise Spa problems.

We have seen in  recent months what happens when people get angry, they rise up and say no more. The Fall of Tunisia, Egypt, now Libya and the riots in London are examples. Will America be NEXT? Will Las Vegas be included in the may lay?

This Commission  & the Office of the Ombudsman was set up to Protect & help homeowners by Senator Schneider. In my opinion both have FAILED Miserably. I get calls daily from very angry people living in HOAs reporting serious abuses. I hear frustration anger & rage in their voices.

WAKE UP folks it is only a matter of time until a spark ignites civil unrest in our city. That would result in further deterioration of property values and KILL tourism to our city. It is time to start to

PROTECT HOMEOWNERS in HOAs & NOT the HOA Industry.
